Our first Pug, a show prospect male, Donaldson's Buster Brown, was purchased from Richard Paisley, a dog show judge. His Sire was English Import Ch. Phidigity Pirecone. We hired a professional handler, Marge Lewis, but we soon realized we didn't have a show male.
We purchased a grown female, Eve Rae's That Girl Of Gore from Louise Gore, bred her to Sir Brock Of Avila, a son of Ch. Wolf's Li'l Joe, belonging to Harve and Margaret Snelson. She produced two puppies, a male and a female, Aug 8, 1970. They became Ch. Donaldson's Li'l Abner and Ch. Donaldson's Daisey May. They were always breeder, owner handled.
Harve and Margret were very kind, and gave us a lot of advice on showing our Pugs. Since the early 70’s we have only bred our females to Margery Shriver’s "Sheffield Pugs", so all of our Pugs are down from the Sheffield line. We adopted Ch. Li'l Davey Of Sheffield from Margery in 1977 or 1978, after he had finished his Championship. He produced a number of champions.
We thank Margery for all the help she has given us through the years, and she continues to do. The next twenty years we spent going to Dog Shows, and hoping to produce the perfect Pug. We still have our Pugs, still hope to produce the perfect Pug, and plan to have Pugs in the show ring this spring.
